Volunteers of all ages are the heart of HELPING HANDS’ work to help the homeless. At the Outreach Center, volunteers help sort and distribute clothing. In our Street Outreach, volunteers take part in food and clothing distributions and the annual homeless count. Volunteers with specialized skills (in health, social work, IT, even in plumbing and electricity) have also donated their expertise. Youth groups have served meals, prepared lunches and hygiene kits, conducted fundraisers and collections, and participated in street "runs." Our Outreach Center clothing "boutique" was re-designed and re-modeled by a Girl Scout toward earning her Gold Star Award, and an Eagle Scout candidate created our Computer Workbank!
